2022 Conference

We are thrilled to announce registrations have opened for our 2022 Housing First Nations Conference.

Together we will explore Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing in Queensland and how we can identify solutions to improve housing outcomes. As we have heard recently, Queensland has a housing crisis and post housing forums and the October 2022 Queensland Housing Summit, we need to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are not further disadvantaged.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community housing providers in Queensland have been working at the frontline for decades to improve housing outcomes, yet they receive little financial support and without it face insecure conditions. Government supplied housing is scarce and the demand for it is growing; yet there is insufficient houses; and there is no commitment for a new Queensland Government Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Plan after June 2023. Despite these challenges, there are solutions to see the housing equality, opportunity, and the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders improved.

Our conference will explore how we can improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing outcomes in Queensland.

We are looking forward to coming together face-to-face! We have some wonderful speakers, strategic overviews, workshops and fascinating leadership panels lined up. We also have some special networking events planned, as well as a few surprises...
